BYO Data Hosting is not a raw processing product. It is for teams that already produce supported drone dataset outputs and need SmartData to host, visualise, and share them.

Raw DJI or Agisoft project folders, raw photos, loose GeoTIFF files, loose LAS or LAZ files, loose OBJ or FBX files, and arbitrary file drops are not direct BYO uploads unless conversion or processing is quoted separately.
Dataset count is the main plan limit
Each plan is sized around the number of hosted datasets your team needs. Included storage is a fair-use infrastructure limit, not the primary way customers should think about the product.
Process outside SmartData
Finish reconstruction, QA, and export work in tools such as DJI Terra or Agisoft Metashape.
Prepare the upload package
Package the processed output into a supported hosted-view format before upload.
Choose the dataset allowance
Pick the plan by hosted dataset count, then use the included storage and seats within fair-use limits.
Host and share
SmartData attaches the package to a team workspace so invited users can view and review the dataset.

Storage is included as a fair-use infrastructure allowance. Overage is reviewed manually for the MVP rather than charged through automatic overage billing.
Prepare data from DJI Terra or Agisoft Metashape
SmartData needs a supported upload package. Terra and Metashape can be the source of the processed outputs, but the BYO upload must be packaged for hosting.
DJI Terra exports
- Complete processing and quality checks before preparing a SmartData upload.
- Use a supported hosted-view package for ortho, 3D Tiles, point cloud, or Gaussian Splat output.
- Do not upload raw DJI project folders or raw photos as the BYO hosting product.
Agisoft Metashape exports
- Export after alignment, dense reconstruction, and model or map generation are complete.
- Convert or package the processed result into the agreed SmartData upload shape.
- Keep the source project available for support, but upload the supported package only.

Add-ons are quoted separately
Processing, ForestSmart, Powerline, inspection AI, analytics, and reporting can be added to a SmartData scope, but they are not bundled into BYO hosting unless the quote says so.
Dataset Pass is the fastest way to host a first processed dataset. Starter suits a small batch of hosted data, Pro supports recurring uploads, and Enterprise is a contact-led arrangement for larger asset owners.

What is the main limit on BYO plans?

What happens if we exceed included storage?
For the MVP, storage overage is handled by manual account review. SmartData does not promise automatic overage billing for BYO hosting.
Can SmartData process my raw drone photos?
Processing can be quoted separately, but the BYO hosting plans are for processed, viewer-ready hosted-view packages rather than raw image sets.
Are AI, ForestSmart, analytics, and reporting included?
