Bring viewer-ready hosted-view packages from DJI Terra, Agisoft Metashape, or your processing workflow into SmartData for secure browser access, team sharing, and review.
BYO hosting needs to make sense for both the people creating processed outputs and the teams who rely on trusted viewer-ready data.
I process drone data
Use DJI Terra, Agisoft Metashape, or your own processing workflow, then host supported packages in SmartData so clients can open a clean viewer instead of downloading files.
Package viewer-ready deliverables
Share one trusted URL
Start with one Dataset Pass upload
I manage/view drone data
Bring processed datasets into a secure workspace where asset teams can inspect, measure, compare, and review without needing specialist desktop tools.
Review trusted hosted data
Invite the right stakeholders
Add AI, analytics, or reporting when scoped
Built by National Drones / SmartData
Real viewer screenshots, hosted dataset workflows, and a team that understands drone capture, processing, asset review, and reporting.
Real SmartData viewer proof
Use polished 16:9 examples across the upload path, 2D maps, 3D Tiles, point clouds, Gaussian Splat-ready hosted views, analytics, volumetrics, and inspection review.
Upload and BYO intake
A clear upload path for supported hosted-view packages.
2D map viewer
Orthomosaic and site context for fast browser review.
3D Tiles and model review
Browser-ready 3D context for terrain and assets.
Point cloud viewer
Dense asset and corridor data for technical review.
Gaussian Splat-ready 3D context
Immersive hosted views for site and asset context where packaged splat data is supported.
Powerline analytics
Corridor overlays, spans, poles, and vegetation evidence.
Mining volumetrics
Stockpile and terrain evidence for volume review workflows.
Inspection AI and reporting
Review detections, inspection evidence, and reporting workflows after hosting.
For processed, viewer-ready hosted-view packages
BYO Data Hosting is not a raw processing product. It is for teams that already produce supported drone dataset outputs and need SmartData to host, visualise, and share them.
Orthomosaic hosted views
Processed ortho outputs that have been tiled or packaged to a supported SmartData upload shape.
Raw DJI or Agisoft project folders, raw photos, loose GeoTIFF files, loose LAS or LAZ files, loose OBJ or FBX files, and arbitrary file drops are not direct BYO uploads unless conversion or processing is quoted separately.
What happens after signup
The launch path is simple: choose the hosted dataset allowance, upload a supported package, then share the trusted SmartData viewer with the right people.
1
Create the account
Start Dataset Pass or choose Starter or Pro with the plan query string sent through to the SmartData app.
2
Prepare the supported package
Use a processed, viewer-ready package for ortho, 3D Tiles, point cloud, or Gaussian Splat hosting.
3
Upload and validate
SmartData hosts the package, checks the viewer path, and keeps storage within the included fair-use allowance.
4
Share and review
Invite seats, share the hosted view, and add processing, AI, analytics, or reporting if the scope requires it.
BYO hosting pricing
Start with a single upload or choose a plan that matches the number of hosted datasets your team expects to keep active in SmartData.
BYO Dataset Pass
The low-friction first upload option for proving one processed dataset in SmartData.
Storage is included as a fair-use infrastructure allowance. Overage is reviewed manually for the MVP rather than charged through automatic overage billing.
Prepare data from DJI Terra or Agisoft Metashape
SmartData needs a supported upload package. Terra and Metashape can be the source of the processed outputs, but the BYO upload must be packaged for hosting.
DJI Terra exports
Complete processing and quality checks before preparing a SmartData upload.
Use a supported hosted-view package for ortho, 3D Tiles, point cloud, or Gaussian Splat output.
Do not upload raw DJI project folders or raw photos as the BYO hosting product.
Agisoft Metashape exports
Export after alignment, dense reconstruction, and model or map generation are complete.
Convert or package the processed result into the agreed SmartData upload shape.
Keep the source project available for support, but upload the supported package only.
Upload package boundaries
These examples set the expectation before a customer signs up or speaks with sales.
Processed output
SmartData package
Do not upload directly
Orthomosaic
Supported ortho hosted-view package
Loose GeoTIFF-only exports unless conversion is quoted
3D model
Cesium 3D Tiles package
Loose OBJ, FBX, textures, or source folders
Point cloud
Tiled point cloud hosted-view package
Loose LAS or LAZ files without viewer-ready tiling
Gaussian Splat
Gaussian Splat hosted-view package
Arbitrary splat folders or unsupported viewer assets
Add-ons are quoted separately
Processing, ForestSmart, Powerline, inspection AI, analytics, and reporting can be added to a SmartData scope, but they are not bundled into BYO hosting unless the quote says so.
Dataset Pass is the fastest way to host a first processed dataset. Starter suits a small batch of hosted data, Pro supports recurring uploads, and Enterprise is a contact-led arrangement for larger asset owners.
A few commercial and upload boundaries matter before the first paid dataset.
What happens after I sign up?
You create the SmartData account with the selected BYO plan, prepare a supported upload package, upload the dataset, and then use the hosted viewer to share and review it with your seats.
How fast can a dataset be hosted?
Turnaround depends on package size, readiness, and whether conversion work is needed. Viewer-ready supported packages are the fastest path; files that need processing or conversion are quoted separately.
What package types are supported?
BYO hosting is for processed hosted-view packages including orthomosaic, Cesium 3D Tiles, tiled point cloud, and Gaussian Splat views.
What if my files are not viewer-ready?
SmartData can quote conversion or processing separately, but BYO hosting should not be treated as a raw photo, raw project folder, loose GeoTIFF, loose LAS or LAZ, OBJ, FBX, or arbitrary file upload product.
What is the main limit on BYO plans?
Dataset count is the main customer-facing limit. Storage is included as a fair-use infrastructure allowance so the hosted viewer remains reliable.
What happens if we exceed included storage?
For the MVP, storage overage is handled by manual account review. SmartData does not promise automatic overage billing for BYO hosting.
Are AI, ForestSmart, analytics, and reporting included?
Processing, ForestSmart, Powerline, inspection AI, analytics, and reporting are add-ons unless they are quoted separately.
How does Enterprise work?
BYO Enterprise is a contact-led sales path for larger asset teams that need custom or unlimited datasets, custom seats, a 5 TB baseline, or a broader platform scope.
